How Long is the USMLE Step 1?

What does Step 1 assess? Step 1 assesses your understanding and ability to apply the concepts of the science basics to medical practice.

Step 1 of USMLE has seven testing blocks of 60 minutes each and is conducted during an 8-hour testing session.

During the exam, participants have a 45-minute break and are able to have 15 minutes of an optional tutorial.
