How Many Questions are on the USMLE Step 1?

The USMLE Step 1 is divided into 7 sections of 60-minutes. Each section will have no more than 40 questions.

The total number of questions will not exceed 280 in the USMLE Step 1.

The USMLE Step 1 is administered via a computer-based testing system.
